"Spring was the freshness of melting snow, the budding of plants, and the damp earth," she says. "In June, the linden blossoms would bloom, and I knew summer was coming. In winter, I remember the scent of my mother when she came in from the cold: musky, cool." Even as we learn all we know, doubts remain. A formula is like a well-written sentence: there are thousands of beautiful words to choose from, but what truly makes it impactful is the emotion contained within them as they come together. Gabriela's academic goal was to become a pharmacist, and it was during her final year of school that she was introduced to the fragrance industry. At the time, she was working in a research laboratory for a fragrance chemical company, and afterward, she went to Grasse. "Everything became clear," she recalls. "Suddenly, I truly understood the role of a perfumer. This world came alive for me, and I knew, this was my life." Her connection to nature remains constant, and her childhood experiences continue to influence her creativity. "My upbringing still influences how I create," says Gabriela. "My earliest scent memories are still vivid, connecting my past to my present, and it is the highest honor to be able to use these memories to touch people's lives with my creations."
