Taiwan Blue-Magpie | Endemic to Taiwan
With its deep blue-purple body, striking red beak and legs, and long tail feathers fanning out like a扇 (shàn - fan) in flight, tipped with black and white accents—this magnificent wild bird, also known as the "Long-Tailed Mountain Girl," is the national bird of Taiwan.
Found exclusively in Taiwan's mid-to-low elevation mountainous areas or densely wooded plains, its distribution is limited to this island. Once threatened by extensive hunting and habitat development, its population has become relatively common in recent years due to conservation efforts.
