What is the wood firing process?** American, Japanese, and Miaoli clays are blended in different ratios and shaped slowly through hand-pinching (not on a wheel). After basic forming, the body lines are refined, and then polished to complete the greenware. Once in the kiln, the pieces undergo a continuous five-day, four-night wood firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. Temperatures reach over 1200°C. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the works, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, flame patterns from within the kiln circulate among the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple fire marks. After five days and four nights of ash and flame interplay, a week of cooling is required for each piece to achieve its stunning form! What should guests be aware of?** Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. As works are purely handmade, they will retain traces of the making process. Slight variations, uneven rims, or minor production scratches may occur due to the firing process, which are normal phenomena and do not affect usability.
