The fabric resembles the sea at night.
Subtle wave patterns flow gently under the light,
in a calm and profound shade of grey-blue.
This piece is crafted from the fabric of a vintage Japanese michiyuki coat.
A traditional rayon textile, it offers a smooth texture and a natural drape.
The fabric has been worn and preserved,
so there may be extremely fine slubs, slight yellowing in areas, or minor color variations.

These conditions are natural signs of age inherent to vintage textiles,
not flaws from later production.
Please purchase only if you can appreciate these characteristics.
We meticulously construct each piece using time-intensive techniques like fell seams, rolled hems, and bound edges,
concealing seam allowances within the structure so that both the inside and outside are treated with care.

The pattern layout follows the logic of traditional Japanese garment construction—
using straight-cut pieces to create proportion, respecting the fabric width and grain, and utilizing every inch of the vintage textile.
Simultaneously, it reinterprets visual lines within contemporary proportions, integrating seams as part of the three-dimensional structure.
This construction method is deliberately slow, not prioritizing efficiency.
We retain this approach because the order and restraint it embodies are still worthy of continuation.
Tradition is not replicated but reinterpreted in the present day.
Craftsmanship exists in the visible and in time itself.

【Care Instructions】
This fabric is a vintage rayon textile, significantly weaker than modern garment fabrics.
Fibers lose strength when wet, so gentle care is advised.
• We recommend infrequent washing.
• Prioritize spot cleaning.
• If machine washing, turn the garment inside out and place it in a laundry bag.
• Wash in cold water.
• Air dry naturally; avoid tumble drying.
• Iron on the reverse side at a low temperature (silk setting).
Avoid high heat and prolonged soaking.
【About EMANATE— a vintage styling project】
We do not aim to replicate a specific era or label our work as "retro." Instead, we seek to reintegrate clothing and accessories into daily life, allowing them to be naturally chosen and repeatedly worn, gradually unfolding a more relaxed styling rhythm and leaving space for time.
【Production & Shipping】
All pieces are handmade by artisans at the Siwen Studio. We value each unique individual and every meticulously crafted piece.
Due to the handmade nature, slight variations and imperfections may exist in the details of each piece. The cutting of fabric patterns also means that each item will not be entirely identical.
We strive to present the state of the product at the time of photography through our images. However, fabric colors may vary slightly due to lighting and monitor settings.
Under normal circumstances, orders will be processed and produced sequentially after payment is completed. If you have an urgent request, please contact us via message before placing your order to confirm if we can complete and ship it within your desired timeframe.
