While perhaps less commonly used by women in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, women in Europe and America have consistently incorporated scarves into their style. Early vintage scarves differ slightly from modern ones; vintage pieces tend to be lighter, originally designed for women to wear as headscarves. They are also perfectly suited for modern styling, like being casually tied around the hair in a Korean-inspired look. Modern scarves are often thicker, designed for warmth and sun protection. The versatility of scarves is truly remarkable, extending far beyond just a neck accessory. Vintage scarves, being lighter, are even more practical! The silk is exceptionally soft and breathable, making it ideal for spring, summer, and autumn in the Asia-Pacific region. In air-conditioned malls or during early autumn, it offers a gentle layer against the breeze (though it might not be warm enough for those who feel the cold easily...). If you want to save even more space, you can roll it up and tie it onto your bag's strap, or simply knot it near the strap as a stylish accent. The color is black with a pale golden yellow hue. The texture and color transitions are incredibly detailed when held in hand! In the past, most of the production process for pre-owned items was ✦ handmade, imbued with the warmth of craftsmanship before mass production. The skill of artisans was far more delicate than that of machines, much like how everyone appreciates the creations of handmade artisans! Today, the vast majority of processes are machine-made with minimal human assembly, losing that former intricacy. I find the simplest and most direct way to see this is by comparing the detailed patterns of vintage "true monogram" designs with the newer "reissued" versions from recent years; the level of detail in the monogram patterns alone is entirely different. If you love monograms, you must seek out pre-owned pieces! Truly! In terms of style, older eras favored ✦ simple, timeless, and enduring designs. Many new styles today are actually reproductions of older designs. However, new items are priced higher than their vintage counterparts. New designs are typically based on older models, with added details or modifications. The final product often becomes more complex (or peculiar...) than the original vintage piece. As we grow older, we all come to understand one thing: the simpler, the more enduring! As we age, our wardrobes tend to return to basic styles because the more fundamental, the more versatile. The quality of raw materials in older pieces is also superior to newer ones. Anyone who understands ✦ leather can see this; the materials in new items are often of a lower grade than vintage ones. This is primarily because the cost of high-quality raw materials is too high today, and their availability is less than in the past; Earth's resources are dwindling! Furthermore, brands back then didn't have the ubiquitous presence of countless stores like they do now. Their clientele typically had a certain income level and high expectations for the finished product. There was no "fast fashion" culture back then; a bag was expected to be used for many years. The difference between new and old eras is clearly visible in the ✦ hardware. The hardware on many new items oxidizes and discolors after just one or two years, but vintage pieces typically do not. Besides the use of high-spec materials and meticulous techniques, hardware from earlier eras was often plated with real K gold! During such times, many people will frantically search for that specific style or a similar alternative, causing the prices of those few items to multiply... Therefore, with vintage, it's truly a case of "buy early, enjoy longer; buy late, pay more" (this isn't an advertising slogan... it's a truth in the vintage world...). This is my personal experience; I regret not acquiring many series earlier, and now they are either impossible to find or available at exorbitant prices... But the problem is, even knowing the price is exorbitant, you're compelled to buy because waiting for the next one will only mean a higher price (unless the condition is poor).
