Chinese Song Dynasty Jizhou kiln Tianmu black glazed wooden leaf bowl│One heart, one leaf, one Bodhi wood leaves are flying
◤
Jizhou Kiln is one of the well-preserved ancient famous kiln sites in China. It is located in Yonghe Town, Ji'an County, Jiangxi Province. It was founded in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song Dynasty. At that time, it was as famous as Ding, Ci, Jun, Yao and Jian kilns.
Jizhou Kiln is one of the production centers of black-glazed porcelain in ancient China. It produces a wide variety of porcelains. According to the glaze, it can be divided into black glaze, celadon glaze, milky white glaze, white glaze painted and green glaze, etc. Before the Song Dynasty, the porcelain fired in various dynasties was mainly white glaze. However, in the Song Dynasty, the special glaze color was produced because more iron oxide was added to the glaze, so the fired glaze color looked like soy sauce color. The iron oxide content is less than 3%, and the glaze color is bluish white. The iron oxide content between 4% and 9% is soy sauce brown.
◤Construction method
The firing method of Jizhou kiln is deeply influenced by the soil materials, glazing methods and production habits. In terms of firing mode, due to the geographical environment of the Jizhou Kiln, the potters took advantage of the advantages and avoided the disadvantages due to the high sand content of the porcelain clay, and formed the habit of "heavy glaze but not heavy tire", that is, when making the green body It is more casual and deliberately pursues changes in glaze color to make up for the shortcomings of the blank. As a result, a variety of glaze colors were unexpectedly formed, and the rough texture of the blank was unrestrained and casual. Even with the advancement of firing technology, the glaze application method has developed from half-glaze to underglaze to full glaze, which fully reflects the attitude of the potters in striving for excellence. However, the tradition of heavy glaze but not heavy tire still prevails, and has also formed production mode. Therefore, except for a few top-grade porcelains, most of the black-glazed Bo porcelain has obvious scraping or jumping marks on the inside and outside of the ring foot, which has become an important feature for identifying the kiln mouth. There is black glaze inside the jar, and the outer belly is half black glaze and half unglazed (exposed earth), and there are circles of texture. The edge of the jar mouth has turned iron-brown due to the passage of time, while the entire interior of the jar is glazed to look like flowers in the scorching sun. The flowers are very beautiful, with slight openings, making the brown-glazed jar beautiful both inside and outside, simple and elegant.
◤Characteristics of tea bowl
After the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty, literati who paid attention to the art of tea drinking liked to use black tea bowls to set off the white tea gardens. The wall of the bowl is slanted and open in the shape of a bamboo hat. After glazing, the foot shape is carved with a knife. The small circle of the foot is shallow and concave, and the bottom must be raised.
The black glaze inside the bowl is decorated with a yellow wooden leaf pattern, which is the imprint left on the embryo after being taken from natural wooden leaves and fired at high temperature. The production process is simple. The maker first applies a light yellow glaze to the bowl, then pastes the treated wood leaves on it, then applies a layer of black glaze rich in iron powder and puts it into the kiln for firing. Because the mulberry leaves themselves are rich in trace elements such as zinc, iron, Bronze, manganese and calcium, they can be made into wooden leaf lamps. This is a unique style of Jizhou Kiln. Black glazed porcelain is a category that represents the appearance of Jizhou kiln ceramics. The Japanese call it "Tenmu". The most attractive one is Konoha Tenmoku. The unpretentious Chi Mu uses natural carving techniques to decorate the inside of the lamp. , arousing people's infinite reverie, how clear and vivid the threads of the wooden leaves are, seemingly dancing with the spirit of life in the dark glaze of the lamp wall. The so-called one flower, one world; one leaf, one bodhi is a special way to solidify the natural materials between heaven and earth into the eternity of art. You can also get a glimpse of the simple and pure artistic beauty that the ceramic craftsmen at that time used to integrate their souls and nature during their work and rest.

The maintenance methods of porcelain are as follows:
1. Wash by hand when cleaning, because the glaze of porcelain is delicate and can be easily scratched. Remember not to use a rough cloth to clean the porcelain surface to avoid scratches.
2. Clean the porcelain with water. The water temperature should not exceed 70 degrees, and do not soak the porcelain in hot water for too long to avoid affecting the appearance of the porcelain.
3. After cleaning the porcelain, let it air dry naturally or wipe it with a soft cloth. Do not put it in drying equipment such as high-temperature sterilization cupboards.
4. If there are stains on the porcelain, it is best to wash them off immediately. Do not let the stains stay on the porcelain for a long time. If the porcelain is stained by tea or coffee, you can use lemon juice or vinegar to clean it.
5. When cleaning porcelain in winter, the water temperature needs to be controlled to prevent the porcelain from exploding due to freezing or exposure to hot water. It is best to use wooden or plastic basins to clean porcelain. Avoid using porcelain and Cement basins to avoid damage to the porcelain.
