In the Name of Faith, Wear the Power of Protection In the 2025 City God Festival, the Xia-Hai City God Temple collaborates with Story Wear and Kaien Bespoke to create a newly designed sacred garment for the City God. Inspired by the theme of “navigation,” the design merges the rise and fall of ocean waves, the guidance of a compass, and the structured language of a tailored suit— symbolizing a righteous guardian who travels through time to protect the people and the city. Alongside the signature armor suit, a series of limited-edition collaborative accessories has been released, allowing divine blessings to step beyond the temple and into everyday life—becoming a form of wearable protection. Hundred Blessings Omamori The Hundred Blessings Omamori is a wearable amulet that blends traditional blessing culture with modern lifestyle aesthetics. Made from surplus denim fabric, it features delicate hand-frayed detailing and embroidered with the phrase “Kindness Prevails,” a reminder to carry the belief that goodness attracts fortune in everyday life. Hidden inside is a fabric talisman bearing the phrase “Sweep Away Misfortune, Invite a Hundred Blessings.” Unlike traditional paper charms, this woven label is washable and durable—a thoughtful design detail meant to last. The omamori is designed with a loop and a string, making it versatile for daily use: detach the string and fasten it directly to a garment button—perfect as a discreet, close-to-heart blessing inside a suit; or hang it on a bag or car mirror as a mobile symbol of peace and protection. This is a piece of portable blessing rooted in Taiwanese tradition—perfect as a meaningful gift or a personal charm. ▎About Xia-Hai City God Temple Founded in 1856, Xia-Hai City God Temple is located in Dadaocheng, Taipei, and serves as a vital spiritual center for the local community. The temple enshrines the City God, a guardian of justice between the realms of the living and the dead, who protects the people and wards off evil. The temple's annual celebration, held on the 14th day of the fifth lunar month, is one of Taipei’s most vibrant folk festivals.
