isumu Dainichi-Nyorai - Stuffed Dolls & Figurines - Other Materials

Product Description

SIZE: 295(H)×170(W)×170(D)mm 2.9kg Material / component: Polystone *Our isumu shop is sold exclusively to Taiwan and Hong Kong. *What is the Eleven-Headed Kannon? The Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva faces all directions in order to respond to the various difficulties and suffering of sentient beings. Since the Heian period in Japan, it has been widely venerated, often associated with folk beliefs. Although examples of this statue can be found across various regions, only seven statues, including the model statue, are designated as National Treasures. The right hand is in the "wish-fulfilling mudra," symbolizing the Bodhisattva’s ability to listen to and grant the desires of all beings, while the left hand holds a water jar filled with sweet nectar that dispels earthly desires. *Model Statue of This Product The model for our product is the National Treasure "Wooden Eleven-Headed Kannon Statue," believed to be from the early Heian period. The eyes, nose, and mouth are delicately small, and combined with the plump cheeks, the face gives the impression of a graceful young girl. However, the statue also possesses a strong, well-defined body with broad shoulders. This creates a sense of weight and presence. Together with the vividly colored halo, it exudes a powerful and mysterious aura typical of esoteric Buddhist statues. The crown decorations are the smallest metal parts that isumu has ever produced. The colorful halo is also hand-painted by artisans.
