✦ What is "Boiled Wool"?
Utilizing the extreme natural temperature fluctuations between day and night in the high-altitude regions of Nepal and Kashmir, wool is processed through a complex series of steps including soaking, boiling, and air-drying for several consecutive days.
This traditional craft is commonly found in handmade scarves and shawls from Nepal and Kashmir. Each item features intricate embroidery and the subtle marks of handcrafting, making them impossible to perfectly replicate and ensuring each is a unique piece of artistry.
Through this process, the wool fibers naturally felt and interweave more tightly, while impurities are removed. This results in a finished product that is:
• Thick and full-bodied
• Densely structured, resistant to deformation
• Exceptionally warm
• Less prone to shrinkage
• Rich in texture, with a unique, structured feel
✦ Washing and Care Instructions (Please read carefully)
Boiled wool is a material crafted through a special process. Proper care will help maintain its structure and texture for a long time.
Please follow these care instructions:
✔ Can be washed in cold water or warm water below 30°C.
✔ Use a neutral, mild detergent.
✔ Soak and wash gently; do not rub.
✔ Can be washed using the "Delicate Cycle" on a washing machine.
⚠️ Please note the following:
• Do not use hot water.
• Avoid vigorous rubbing or stretching.
• Do not use alkaline detergents.
• Always place in a laundry bag when washing in a machine.
• If washing with only a few items, select "Slow Delicate Wash" to prevent deformation from strong spinning.
