Brass Care Instructions: Brass has long been a highly favored jewelry material, appreciated for its accessible price point and resistance to fading. However, like silver, brass can oxidize. Exposure to moisture, sweat, and air can deepen its color. While some appreciate this natural patina, to maintain its original luster, please take note of the following: ♦ Avoid contact with water. ♦ Store in a resealable pouch when not being worn. If the luster appears dulled, a few simple methods can help restore your purchase to its former brilliance. Please note that while color can be restored, lost shine due to wear may not be fully recovered (the matte, antique bronze look of vintage pieces is also beautiful!). ♦ Gently scrub with a toothbrush dipped in a small amount of foaming toothpaste or tooth powder, similar to brushing teeth. This can restore brass's shine. Be sure to dry thoroughly afterward. ♦ Wipe with a silver polishing cloth for a quick restoration of shine (not suitable for brushed finishes). ♦ Dilute lemon juice, submerge the brass piece for approximately 5 minutes, and it will quickly regain its luster (not suitable for natural beads sensitive to acid, such as pearls).
