Necklace with Ethnic Metal Parts, Bells, Tibetan Brass Decorated Shell Beads, Shan Carnelian, Beaded Brass, and Blue-Gray and Blue Beads

A necklace strung with a variety of elements, including ethnic metal parts, bells, Tibetan brass-decorated shell beads, Shan carnelian, beaded brass, and blue-gray & blue beads. The slightly larger metal parts, featuring intricate openwork designs, hail from Myanmar or Thailand. These were historically used by the Chin or Akha ethnic groups, strung together to form belts. While these are vintage pieces, their wear and unique patina lend them a wonderfully cool and evocative character! (Metal part size: 2.2cm height, 2.4cm width) The bells are from the Kuchi people, used as decorative items or adornments, and are antique pieces. (They do not ring.) The shell beads, adorned with brass caps, originate from Tibet. Their exact age is unknown, but their worn texture suggests they were once part of decorative pieces or prayer beads. The caps are decorated with charming circular patterns. (Shell bead size: 1.2cm height, 0.9cm diameter) These beautiful striped beads are carnelian used by the Shan people of Myanmar. While the precise age is unclear, they are over 50 years old. The intricate, naturally formed stripes are captivating! (Vintage carnelian size: 1cm height, 0.6cm diameter) The tiny, granular beads are brass beads crafted by the Benin people of Africa, showcasing incredibly fine workmanship. The golden beads are Old Orissa brass, rare and ancient beads sourced from the Orissa region of India. The round charm near the clasp is also vintage brass from India. The blue-gray and semi-transparent blue beads are antique glass beads from Venice, each irregularly shaped, adding to their artisanal charm. The amber-colored beads, with their distinctive white cores, are known as White Hearts. Authentic antique White Hearts (19th-20th century) are becoming increasingly rare. These possess a rich, deep hue with a captivating, slightly uneven color distribution. The abacus-shaped brass beads were part of a string of Shan carnelian. Each tiny Karen Silver bead is individually stamped! The meticulous, hand-crafted nature of these markings is truly awe-inspiring. The gently curved clasp is also made of Karen Silver. ◇ Karen Silver ◇ This silver is crafted by the mountain-dwelling ethnic groups of Thailand and Burma. Each piece is handmade, and the silver is said to be of very high purity. The necklace is strung with waxed cord, which may feel slightly stiff initially but will become supple with wear.
