It opens in 14 steps — little by little, in sequence. The Japanese puzzle box is made entirely of wood. “Mame” means “bean” in Japanese, so the name suggests that the box is as small as a bean. The design features Yosegi-zaiku, a traditional marquetry style from Hakone. Each box has a unique pattern. The side panels are made of natural Ho wood (Magnolia) from Japan. This tiny puzzle box is handcrafted only by Hiroyuki Oka. All the internal gimmicks are made of wood, so the warmth of wood The simple and gentle movement of the mechanism gives healing and comfort. The surface of the puzzle box is painted with a safe transparent paint.
