/Manufacturer Partner Organization── Kumbeshwar Technical School (KTS) /
From 1999 to 2018, Nepal’s producer partner organization "Kumbeshwar Technical School (KTS)" provided warm hand-woven items every season.
This is a social enterprise that has created job opportunities for more than 2,500 people including female knitters.
KTS is an education project initiated by Congressman Siddhi Bahadur Kadugi in 1983.
In Nepal at that time, the "Pod" people belonging to the lower castes had no opportunity to receive education, only cleaning the streets.
Kadugi provides childcare services for children from poor families in a local monastery, hoping to change the status quo through the suffering people. Literacy classes have been opened for parents and vocational training has also started to help Pode people expand their job options.
Three training courses in knitting, carpet weaving and woodworking are provided free of charge
KTS supports the idea of independence of economically and socially disadvantaged groups, passed from founder Siddhi Bahadur Kadugi to his son Kiran Kadugi and grandson Satiendra, through education and increasing the income of the poor through manufacturing.
People Tree will continue to support KTS as a fair trade partner through trade and as a supporter of non-profit social activities.
