He often said, “A memorable dinner requires a bowl of good soup, and a bowl of good soup requires a wonderful spoon!” When people asked why he has such an inexplicable obsession with spoons, he said, “Maybe it’s because I like to drink soup since I was a child!” Because of his obsession and the pursue of high-quality spoons, whenever Kento need to eat out, he will bring his own handcrafted teak wooden spoon and drink his favorite miso soup.
The Expensive Teak Wood
Kento uses precious teak wood as the raw material to create his favorite spoons, all because of his inexplicable obsession with spoons. The surface of teak wood is smooth to the touch. The golden yellow color together with the ink lines on the wood make the whole product looks delicate and at the same time giving people an extraordinary feeling. Apart from these, teak wood has excellent stability and are not perishable. Also, it is perfectly resistant from insert attack, that’s why they are called “the king of wood”.
100% Handcrafted by Wood Master
Our Japanese teak wooden spoon is 100% natural and is handcrafted by our professional wood master Kento Takahashi. No chemicals are added in order to keep and highlight the natural details of the logs, such as grains and bird’s eye. Kento possesses the characteristic of craftsmanship and was involved in every single step during production, from reclaiming, billeting, forming, smoothing edges to grinding and polishing. That is the reason why the product can be so delicate, smooth and beautiful.

As designed by Japanese wood master Kento Takahashi, the teak wooden spoon integrates the Japanese minimalist and simplicity design concept. Wood master Kento advocates minimalism and simplicity, and strives to preserve the originality of the teak wood. “Simply is Beauty.” he always said. Although the tray is not decorated with fancy coloring or engraving, it is elegant in its own clean and simple way.
