"Sky Split" is the first Chinese translation of Huang Yubang's English poetry collection of the same name. In 2016, Huang Yubang won the 28th Lambda Literary Awards (Gay Poetry) for this collection of poems, which is known as the "Emmy Award" in gay literature. The same award-winning writers in different categories include American humor and prose master David Sedaris, feminist and Poet Adrienne Rich, and Irish novelist Colm Toibin who has come out, it can be seen that it is not easy to win this award.
"Sky Split" uses urban imagery, embezzles cultural symbols, and explores topics such as body touch and gender identity. The language is bold and deliberate, but without losing the delicate dialectics. This book was translated by a young translator Xu Xiwen. About the Author
Huang Yubang (Nicholas Wong) won the American LGBTQ Literary Award-Lambda Literary Awards, the first prize in the gay poetry category for his English poetry collection in 2016. In the same year, he won the Hong Kong Arts Development Award for Young Artist (Literature and Art). In 2017, he was invited to participate in the Manchester International Art Festival broadcast project "One of Two Stories, Or Both", and in May 2018, he participated in the exhibition of the Hongyi Ho Family Fund China Art Action at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
