Vintage English bone china teacup and saucer set from the Moss Rose series made by Royal Albert.
Thomas C. Wild bought the Albert Works in Longton, Stoke on Trent in 1895. This factory had been named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's Consort. It specialised in tea, breakfast and dessert pieces with floral designs, and it soon gained a reputation of producing beautiful china tea & breakfast sets, firmly establishing the Royal Albert name. The Moss Rose series was in production from 1956 to 2001.
The backstamp was in use in the 1980s. This set is in undamaged, fairly good condition with wear on the gold rims and small surface marks on the glaze of the saucer. The photographs are a part of the description.
Dimensions:
9cm diameter x 7cm height (not incl. the handle)
saucer: 14cm diameter
