These earrings are crafted by connecting Afghan metal parts, dark blue beads, and ethnic bells.
The metal parts, sourced from Afghanistan, exhibit a beautiful verdigris patina. While not ancient, they have been treated to achieve a vintage look, giving them an incredibly cool, substantial feel. (Size: 0.9cm height, 1cm diameter)
The dark blue beads are antique glass beads known as Indo-Pacific beads. Their origins are said to trace back to the 2nd century BC. These particular beads are archaeological finds from Indonesia, dating back to approximately the 10th century – over 1000 years old!
The bells are components from the Kuchi tribe of Afghanistan, originally part of decorative items and considered antique. They do not produce sound.
These are slightly petite earrings with a distinct ethnic charm.
