If you find the scent has weakened, we suggest replacing the reeds with a fresh set. Reed sticks rely on unidirectional capillary action to draw up and diffuse the oil. Inverting the reeds reverses and interferes with the established capillary flow; while this may release some surface fragrance temporarily, the subsequent diffusion will become significantly weaker and unstable. Furthermore, reed sticks can become gradually clogged by airborne dust and fragrance oil over time. Therefore, we recommend replacing them with new reeds when the diffusion effect diminishes to maintain stable scent dispersal.
