This is my third art book.
I am often asked, "Why don't you write picture books?"
Of course I want to make it! But maybe not now. So I designed it so that the story somehow seems to be connected.
My 2-year-old daughter is a big influence and gives me a lot of ideas. I have many friends who are artists and have children, and I was thinking about how I was getting ideas from them and connecting them to my work. The accompanying text is also what I felt at the time.
Not really a behind-the-scenes story, but working on a bookbinding is breathtaking, and I can't take on the challenge unless I motivate myself with "Let's do this!" (Bookbinding artists are amazing). The cover paper, the paper for the inside pages, the binding method, the number of pages, the thickness and color of the paper, the font, the size of the letters...the list goes on and on, but the time spent examining them is just so much fun. And the moment it's finished is special. It's finally finished! Woah!! I feel like jumping for joy. It's so much fun both when drawing and designing (the red thread binding is the key point, after all, I'm a red girl).
In 2019, "Winter", in 2023, "Looking Now, Leading You", and in 2025, "Feeling".
I'm really excited to see what I'll come up with next.
