Hand-Woven Silk Stole [Tantsuki *05]
Material: 100% Silk
Size: Approx. 30cm (43cm) x 170cm (excluding 7cm fringe)
This small stole is hand-woven using high-quality raw silk sourced from a silk yarn dealer in Nishijin, Kyoto. The silk is dyed into various colors after being processed into yarn. Its sheer, thin, and crinkled texture allows it to drape lightly and softly against the body.
The warp threads are woven with a mix of silk loop yarn to create texture, while the weft is woven with ultra-fine raw silk and tightly twisted yarn. This combination results in a subtle vertical texture and a narrow width that is easy to handle.
With a fine warp density of 660 threads, and dyed after being partially purified (30% refined), the silk yarn offers a smooth, almost organza-like feel. Silk stoles are excellent at moisture absorption, release, and heat retention, making them suitable for all seasons.
