(Acrylic 30*40cm, 2.2023) I am one of those who are slow to notice the sights and objects in the city that are gradually disappearing. In recent years, I've realized that as a native Hongkonger, my understanding of Hong Kong is superficial. I recently learned that the neon sign of Nam Cheong Pawn is scheduled for removal. For someone like me, who grew up in a new town, a sign that is about to disappear feels like a "new discovery," making me even more aware of how unfamiliar this city still is to me.
