"Making tea brewing more elegant, and eliminating the risk of burns."
This is a set of handcrafted gaiwans that breaks with tradition, combining functionality with wabi-sabi aesthetics. We've made thoughtful design tweaks to enhance the tea ceremony experience:
• Exclusive filter lid design: Precisely engraved filter holes along the edge of the lid. No need for laborious adjustments; simply slide the lid gently against the rim to easily filter out tea leaves.
• Stable and flat, no more burns: The unique curvature of the lid rim allows it to sit securely on the rim. When pouring tea, a light press of the lid knob provides stability and reduces the risk of burns.
• Metallic and emerald sparkle: The bowl body uses a metallic glaze reminiscent of mineral rock, exuding a sense of solidity; the lid knob is adorned with a touch of jewel-like emerald green glaze, adding a touch of dynamism to the darker tones.
• Perfect three-piece set: Includes a lid, teacup, and saucer. Each piece is hand-thrown and glazed by artisans, the colors randomly generated during kiln firing making each one a unique collector's item.

• The visual tension of the teapot: The lines of the pieces are simple yet powerful, eliminating superfluous decorations and returning to the simplicity and warmth of the material itself.

Handmade, these pieces exhibit a slightly coarse texture and traces of hand-throwing characteristic of wood-fired ceramics. Indentations from the sand grains and fine lines are normal phenomena and not defects. Wood-firing aims for artistic creation within imperfection; if you require perfection, please do not choose this product. 😊
Chuanhu Workshop was founded by ceramic artist Wu Hongrui, focusing on exploring the essence of clay and the strength of its lines. Here, every piece rejects the uniformity of industrial production. We insist on using solid hand-throwing techniques to breathe life into the clay; whether it's a smoothly sculpted teapot or a warm, comfortable mug, each piece embodies our extreme pursuit of detail.
In terms of firing techniques, we demonstrate diverse inclusivity. On one hand, we insist on using wood-fired ceramics to temper the natural art of fire and clay, leaving an unrepeatable rugged beauty from the ash and fire marks; on the other hand, to meet the delicate requirements of hotels and guesthouses for spatial atmosphere, we have also carefully developed a handmade glaze-fired series. We imbue commercial spaces with the warmth of artisan craftsmanship, adorned with elegant and understated or modern minimalist glazes, injecting a unique humanistic atmosphere.
The name "Chuanhu" signifies not only inheritance but also transmission.
We inherit the local pottery-making techniques of Yingge, transforming the rustic simplicity of the clay into a jade-like warmth through the high-temperature firing process. We also hope to convey a sense of quality in life to you through these objects.
From wood-fired utensils for professional tea ceremonies to bespoke glazed wares for hotels and guesthouses, Chuanhu Workshop is dedicated to bringing art into everyday life. We don't just make pottery; we create tranquil and beautiful moments for your life.
