Mr. Nakamura, a somewhat shy yet exceptionally graceful artisan, has retired from the ranks of kimono makers. With his impeccable taste and skill, he selects exquisite kimono fabrics to create these one-of-a-kind clasp purses. - ◾️ The [Black Cat Series], inspired by his beloved cats: Mr. Nakamura is meticulous about the materials used for his clasp purses. He specifically chooses 100% "Tango Chirimen" premium silk kimono fabric for the exterior, dyed in black. The golden lines are meticulously applied by hand, one by one, using gold leaf. The lining varies with each creation. (This painstaking process nearly drove both myself and the artisan to distraction...)
