Zhuo Wenjun, Demi-parure, China, Chinese, History, Crown, Hairpin, Zha, Buyo, Classic, Chinoiserie, Brooch, Flower, Rose, Pink, Green, Pearl, Cloisonné, Gold - Necklaces - Glass Multicolor

Product Description

A new addition joins the demi-parure series, featuring an "otomo" necklace, inspired by the "Zhuo Wenjun" from our Chinese hairpin brooch collection. The necklace is adorned with Czech beads in pink and green, and pearl beads with hand-painted pink roses, designed to complement the brooch. This piece is inspired by the hairpin of Wang Zhaojun, also known as the "Falling Goose Beauty," one of the Four Beauties of ancient China, a figure from Chinese legend. Zhuo Wenjun is sometimes counted among the Four Beauties, as the "Falling Goose Beauty," in place of Wang Zhaojun. Zhuo Wenjun was the wife of Sima Xiangru, a renowned writer of the Western Han Dynasty. She is remembered in China as a woman of great talent who devotedly supported her husband, helping him achieve renown in the imperial court. Honestly, many in Japan may not be familiar with her. (I certainly wasn't! ^^;) However, among the Four Beauties of China, many of whom met tragic ends, Zhuo Wenjun seems to have lived a relatively happy life, united with the one she loved. ^^ With so many unfortunate figures, I wanted to create something that represented at least one person who found happiness... We aimed to express splendor and happiness with a palette of gold and pink. Furthermore, as another "Falling Goose Beauty," we've scattered colorful variations of parts from the "Falling Goose Beauty" brooch, which features Wang Zhaojun, throughout the design. While incorporating these elements, we've carefully designed it so that the overall impression is entirely different—befitting a different woman, of course! ^^ The fan-shaped components, linked in a row of three, are ingeniously connected to create a fluttering movement, reminiscent of a butterfly taking flight, when you hold the piece. This movement captures the romantic essence of the love story that began when Zhuo Wenjun received a secret letter from Sima Xiangru, who harbored a hidden affection for her. (In fact, these two fell in love at first sight and were mutual from the very beginning!) The pink resin roses, resembling coral, and the Swarovski pearls symbolize unwavering devotion in love and hidden passion, even amidst adversity. The white Swarovski pearls represent the steadfast heart that cherishes and protects the life shared with a loved one. The base of yellow-green cloisonné beads provides a grounding element, preventing the design from becoming overly sweet. The cloisonné beads not only enhance the Chinese aesthetic but also aim to evoke Zhuo Wenjun's scholarly grace. As you move, the dangling ornaments create a soft, rustling sound. Perhaps the ornate hairpins that adorned the hair of ancient beauties also made such delicate sounds as they walked... The hairpin was chosen as a motif to represent these women because it was likely a cherished personal item that offered insight into the owner's character. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhPeRnoQrjQ ◇ ◇ ◇ Czech beads may exhibit small indentations, scratches on their surface, or tiny bubbles within. The shape and color of each bead may also vary slightly. We kindly ask for your understanding of these inherent characteristics of Czech beads. The mannequin is smaller than the actual product size, so please refer to the "Size" information. The dangling ornaments are delicately crafted; please handle them with care. Due to the structure, the dangling ornaments may become tangled. If this occurs, please gently untangle them. While we generally aim to minimize the visibility of the mesh base (where parts are attached), in this series, it has been intentionally left as part of the design. We appreciate your understanding. All metal parts are plated. Please refrain from polishing them vigorously with an abrasive cloth during cleaning. Storing the item in a zip-lock bag when not in use will help maintain its original condition for longer. Exposure to air can cause discoloration of the metal components. Each cloisonné bead will vary in glaze application, color, and pattern. The base metal may also be slightly visible in some areas. We appreciate your understanding. As each piece is handmade, there may be slight variations in the placement and shape of the components. The parts are attached to the base with fine thread. While they may seem to move slightly, they are securely fastened and safe to use. Please avoid using this item on fabrics where needle holes would be conspicuous.
