The primary distinction between African Yellow Dragon Jade and Yunnan Yellow Dragon Jade lies in their origin and the geological conditions of their formation. Yunnan Yellow Dragon Jade is mined from mountainous areas, found in gullies, at the foot of mountains, or in riverbeds (pebble form), making its discovery exceptionally rare. In contrast, African Yellow Dragon Jade is found as "grassland material," meaning the jade lies beneath the surface. The superior quality of African Yellow Dragon Jade is attributed to the region's climate, temperature, pressure, and tectonic plate activity over two hundred million years. Southern Africa is also abundant in "diamonds," "gems," and "gold," which contributes to the sand-like, glittering reflection of African Yellow Dragon Jade under strong light or sunlight. Subsequently, through collective discussion, this jade from Africa was temporarily named "Fu Cai Dong Yu." When the decision was made to export jade from Africa to China, it was sent to National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan and the "Wuhan Center for Quality Supervision and Testing of Mineral Resources, Ministry of Land and Resources" in mainland China for quality inspection. It was discovered to contain components of sapphire, ruby, Hetian jade, and emerald, while sharing about 70% similarity in composition and structure with Yunnan Yellow Dragon Jade. Thus, following sampling, research, and appraisal by the Wuhan Center for Quality Supervision and Testing of Mineral Resources, it was officially named Yellow Dragon Jade.
