│Artist Introduction│
Born in the UK, a children's book illustrator and surrealist artist.
He has received numerous awards, including the Hans Christian Andersen Award, the highest honor in children's literature, in 2000.
Initially drawing for medical purposes, he built a strong foundation for his detailed linework, featuring vibrant colors and a talent for creating dramatic scenes. His artwork frequently features gorillas, symbolizing strength and power, yet they are also depicted as sensitive creatures, a contrast that adds considerable humor and charm to his stories.
