The writing effect of the Standard Calligraphy Titanium Tip is demonstrated in the video. It is softer and offers greater variation. Line width is achieved not by pressing down, but by the angle of the pen holder, utilizing the curvature at the tip of the nib to create uniquely varied line widths. (This video shows ink dipping for testing, hence the saturated ink flow).
DAPENG BAY: 3952 Laoshanyao - A special edition for grand writing, named after a famous Taiwanese landmark. Crafted from natural mother-of-pearl shell, as translucent as white jade, it is cut into pieces and then meticulously reassembled, aligning the patterns of each piece as closely as possible. Each shell piece possesses natural patterns and colors. After manual polishing, they are encased on a brass tube, followed by a thick layer of transparent lacquer. While the seams are visible, they are imperceptible to the touch. The natural patterns are breathtakingly beautiful and captivating (natural patterns, high-quality, shipped randomly). The pen is complemented by original brass fittings, finished in a gunmetal chrome electroplate. It features a twist-action airtight cap and a specially designed spring-loaded clip.
The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) standard titanium nib, handcrafted and ground by Laoshanyao artisans into a Standard Calligraphy Titanium Tip. It is smooth and flexible, suitable for both Chinese characters and foreign languages, offering a superior writing experience that produces calligraphic strokes with varying line widths.
This model also offers a German Bock #250 (#6) standard titanium EF straight nib option, for those who desire the elasticity and comfortable feedback of a titanium nib without the need for a calligraphy nib.

Hand-adjusted calligraphy nib:
1. For writing with a calligraphy nib, it is generally recommended to first dip it in ink and use it for a period before using a converter.
2. If ink flow is interrupted when using a converter, check the angle of the pen holder. Ensure both iridium points simultaneously contact the paper; do not write with one side only. If ink flow is still interrupted, check if paper fibers or debris are stuck on the nib.
3. Remove the converter and try filling the ink directly.
4. Clean the nib first. If writing with one iridium point consistently, or applying excessive pressure, it can cause misalignment of the iridium points, creating uneven height differences that scratch the paper and accumulate debris in the nib gap.
5. The calligraphy nib is an EF nib adjusted to have a curvature. Line width is achieved not by pressing down, but by the angle of the pen holder, utilizing the curvature at the tip of the nib to create varying line widths. Holding the pen more upright reduces the contact area between the nib and the paper, resulting in finer lines. The more the pen is tilted, the larger the contact area, producing thicker lines. The ability to write thick or thin lines depends on your proficiency and skill.

Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the pen body and cap. When at rest, do not store the nib facing downwards for extended periods.
Warm reminder: Do not press down on the nib while writing, nor write with it angled to the left or right (for right-handed users, it is recommended to write with the nib pointing towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position) to avoid accidental misalignment of the iridium points, which can cause scratching and ink flow interruption. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink blockage and maintain writing quality.
Enjoy the pleasure of writing yourself and share it with friends and family. An excellent choice for a practical and high-end gift!
