☾ About Colditz?
Colditz is a city in Saxony, Germany. It began manufacturing pottery in the early 17th century and sent kaolin to the porcelain factory in Meissen and Dresden to study the new pottery technology. It can be said that At that time, European porcelain was invented. In 1804, Thomsberger & Hermann started a ceramics factory in Colditz until 1929, when he produced pottery and later developed porcelain. In 1948, it was taken over by the then East German government. The name of the factory was changed to VEB Porzellan Colditz. The mass production of porcelain began. It became the largest manufacturer of household and restaurant porcelain in East Germany. In 1969, it was renamed VEB Porzellancombinat Colditz. Until the wall of Berlin collapsed.
After the reunification of Germany, the porcelain factory was privatized until 1998 when it ended because of bankruptcy.
