Vintage European Silver Teardrop Floral Filigree Snowflake Brooch B1940

A vintage filigree floral brooch from France, featuring intricate wirework and a dimensional floral design. The outer edge is a teardrop-shaped petal design (Repoussé), where raised teardrop petals are formed using the metalworking technique of repoussé, commonly seen in 18th–20th century European jewelry. The overall design is a multi-layered flower, a style frequently found in traditional brooches from Nordic countries, Asia Minor, and Portugal, often worn with festive and traditional attire. The back of the brooch has a classic European clasp. Material: Silver-plated metal. It is substantial and in very good condition. As a vintage item, it cannot be compared to new products. Please only purchase if you are comfortable with this. Diameter: 4 cm. The clasp on the back is called a Trombone Clasp, also known as a Push-pull safety clasp. This design is frequently seen in French and European jewelry. It was widely used in the 1940s and was even featured in vintage Chanel pieces!
