Japanese *Viola americana* | Companion Wild Plant for Bonsai Exhibition - Plants - Pottery

Product Description

Japanese Variety: Viola americana *Viola americana* (syn. *Viola praecox*) - Rare Wild Plant Heart-shaped leaves with wavy edges, offering high ornamental value. Graceful and dynamic, it blooms sequentially in spring. The flowers are elegant in form and color, boasting a large size within the viola family (nearly the size of a 5 NT dollar coin). Created for the Mid-Size Cliff-Dwelling Cotoneaster Bonsai Exhibition (Fig. 7). These wild plants, known as "companion plants," are used to complement bonsai trees. They possess an added function beyond typical free-form arrangements, requiring more delicate and intricate design to enhance the grand artistic conception of the bonsai display. The choice of pot is also crucial. The Wendoo blue-glazed, shallow papaya-shaped pot (Fig. 6) evokes the effect of rolling hills or even watery meadows. With carefully chosen accent elements and skillful arrangement, it creates a miniature world of beauty. /In Stock/ Figs. 1-6 photographed on 2025/10/14. We recommend pairing with a shallow water tray for easy care. Materials: *Viola americana*, variegated Acorus gramineus, Ficus pumila 'Minima', two bulbs of rare variegated Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Kurokawa', Sedum rubrotinctum, moss.
