The Istituto Fotocromo Italiano (IFI) is an Italian photography association.
It was founded in Florence in 1928 by engineer Vincenzo Balocchi.
In addition to his engineering research, he was a renowned amateur photographer and
served as the art director for the Fratelli Alinari company.
-
Today, IFI remains under the leadership of the same family as it was originally.
Each product carries a pure Italian heritage.
From the materials themselves, the design, to the printing process, everything is completed in Italy.
The paper used is also fine Italian art paper,
perfectly expressing the colors of the print on the paper.
This continues the long-standing, vintage artistic style of Italy and other European countries.
-
For IFI,
a rich sense of nostalgia and local character guide their creations.
From opera, film, and advertising, to architecture, classic literature, and more,
their style is distinct and encompasses a wide range of themes.
Through these images, we can imagine the atmosphere of bygone eras.
If you are captivated by vintage Europe,
you may find much to appreciate in IFI's work!
