This is a brooch that doubles as a necklace, featuring a charming fairy cameo. The cameo is made of acrylic resin. Unlike cameos carved from shell or stone, this acrylic cameo showcases incredibly delicate details that would be impossible to achieve through carving alone on such a small scale. The artwork evokes the delicate illustrations of fairies found in the enchanting works of Cicely Mary Barker, reminiscent of collectible cards once included as free gifts in chocolate boxes in Japan. The design depicts a fairy seated amidst flowers resembling dahlias, with beautiful wings like those of a swallowtail butterfly. In this batch, the green background has become slightly deeper (see images 1-2). If the previous version was the color of matcha latte, this one is more like matcha green. This increased color contrast makes the fairy illustration stand out even more clearly. The cameo itself is generously sized at 4cm x 3cm. This ensures that the fine details of the artwork can be fully appreciated. Image 6 provides a sense of scale by showing it alongside a person, rendered close to life-size. The back is equipped with a brooch pin and a loop, allowing it to be used as both a brooch and a necklace. As the loop is quite small, it comes with a necklace chain featuring a heart-shaped clasp for easy attachment and detachment. For added security when worn as a necklace, you can also fasten the brooch pin to prevent excessive movement. The metal hardware is gold-toned. A silicone brooch stopper is included for your peace of mind, ensuring a secure fit.
