Ryukin Obi-dome (for 3-minute cord)

This is a Ryukin obidome. Ryukin goldfish are characterized by their softly spreading tail fins and rounded silhouette. This goldfish was imported from China during the Edo period and came to be called "Ryukin" because it arrived via the Ryukyu Islands. They are cute to look at and the way they swim gracefully is soothing to the soul. This lovely obidome features a gorgeous tail fin and a Seigaiha pattern of scales. Goldfish became popular among the common people in the late Edo period. They were made to look at from the side or below by hanging them in glass containers, or placed in buckets or ceramic vessels so that they could be viewed from above, and the "top view" was emphasized, and they were improved into various forms. In China, goldfish are said to be auspicious fish that bring good luck and wealth. In Chinese, it is pronounced "chin yui," which is the same as "jin yu" (having extra money), so it has been considered a symbol of wealth and good fortune.
