Nanbu tekki kozan's handmade cast iron kettle iron bowl shape arare 1.6L - Teapots & Teacups - Other Metals Black

Product Description

This tetsubin is handmade by the foundry craftsman kozan. The entire manufacturing process is made by a foundry craftsman. It is carefully finished by the traditional technique (baking method). It is an iron kettle of "iron bowl shape" which is representative of Nambu iron kettle. An iron bowl is a round iron bowl used by monks to receive food in alms since ancient times. We named it “iron bowl shape” after its shape. Rounded tetsubin have long time popular. This tetsubin is decorated with a traditional Nambu tetsuki arare pattern. The arare pattern is inherited today from the ingenious wisdom and intricate design of our ancestors, as it makes the tetsubin thicker and more effective at retaining heat. The Arare pattern is a traditional pattern that has been handed down from ancient times. The picking of a lid is decorated with a hole called "Mushikui" . "Mushikui" gives the piece a withered appearance and a sense of deep richness peculiar to the Japanese, as well as a sense of splendor. The inside is not enamel processed. The boiling water will be mellow. The water boiled in Nanbu iron kettle tastes mellow and sweet even when drunk straight. This is due to the effect of iron leaching into the hot water, but in order for the iron to leach out, the inside cannot be enameled or otherwise treated, and rust is liable to occur. -Origin of Kozan- It is said that it was named because the southern clan used to keep tigers near Kitayama, Morioka City, where the first tiger mountain (Heikichi Kumagai) was born. His works are mainly Yugama and iron kettles, and he is good at Arale patterns for generations. ※It can be used with IH. Do not use on high heat. Please use below medium heat. ※There will be individual differences in coloring due to the hand-coloring process.
