Recently, I've been focusing on tassel-style pieces, so I wanted to create something simple with a single stone. At the end of last year, I participated in a market for the first time in a while and found that accessories made from materials other than resin and natural stones had become more mainstream. This situation made me rethink the unique charm of natural stones. I realized that the calm, natural feel of organic materials could compensate for their perceived drawbacks: weight, cost, and fragility. This piece is made from Indonesian palmwood. Palmwood is a fossilized palm root, a type of petrified wood. The striking pattern on the jet-black base showcases the unique allure of natural stone. The top is simply wrapped with wire. The hook is kept small to highlight the stone's beauty. The metal components are 14K gold filled.
