They are produced in a specialized embroidery factory located in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture, a renowned hub for Japanese embroidery. The motifs are created by machine-embroidering onto a water-soluble film, which is then dissolved, leaving only the embroidery threads. As the earrings are made entirely of thread, excluding the metal findings, they weigh a mere 4g per pair, making them exceptionally light and comfortable to wear with minimal strain on the ears. (4g is equivalent to the weight of four 1-yen coins). When light passes through these thread motifs, they appear translucent, swaying gently and gracefully in the breeze, illuminating your face with a vibrant charm. The design is inspired by the Eschscholzia caespitosa, which blooms vibrantly along roadsides and in open fields in early spring. Although it is an introduced species and often considered a weed, its vivid, swaying form evokes the changing seasons.
