☁️PENNANT COLLECTION I'd like what I make to mean something rather than just being pretty. Pennants are traditional flags representing an organization which usually also imply a sense of congratulation, gratitude and appreciation. This is where the idea of this pennant collection came from, to originally present the beauty and the cultural & historical significance on an object, to allow appreciation while letting it be an item that can decorate a home, or a place of belonging. Quarry Bank Mill, located in Cheshire in the U.K, is one of the best preserved textile factories of the Industrial Revolution. It's a massive cotton mill built in 1874, now a Grad II* Listed National Heritage, while I came to know it as I'm a fabric-holic that I purposely searched for mills I can visit in the U.K.. There was a drama series <The Mill> adapted from a book documenting workers' life at the Mill during the 19th century, a history full of worker exploitation and child labor that the Quarry Bank workers were later important pioneers at that time to protest for their rights, shaping the future labor laws in the U.K.. I visited the Mill after finishing the drama that the Mill itself is a beautiful & magnificent place exhibiting both the mill mechanism and the horrible history of exploitation.
