He holds a Master of Fine Arts from National Taiwan Normal University and Lindenwood University in the United States. He has served as the Chairman of the Chinese Calligraphy Society and the Vice President of the Chinese Painting, Calligraphy, and Seal Engraving Academy. He was also an artist-in-residence at the University of Science and Technology of Taiwan and Taipei Tech. In 1996, he studied in France with public funding. He has held solo exhibitions of his calligraphy and paintings in Taiwan, China, the United States, France, and Japan. Chu Chen-Nan's large-scale works are displayed in public spaces, including the Taipei City Hall lobby, Taipei Main Station, Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, the Music College of Taipei National University of the Arts, and inscriptions for Taiwan's eastern railway stations.
