Fire hoses are a common sight in our lives, present in every office building and home as a vital piece of firefighting equipment. However, their lifespan is typically around 7-10 years. Once retired, these fire hoses, primarily made of rubber, become non-recyclable and non-biodegradable materials, destined for disposal as large waste. Yet, rubber is inherently a durable and non-slip material. Recognizing this, the Entadar Sea Drift Project brand, while researching functional materials that are water-repellent and wearable, discovered that fire hoses align with the international trend of upcycling. This proposal aims to utilize retired fire hoses as a material to develop new upcycled products. In response to environmental consciousness, Entadar has dedicated significant time to research and material sourcing, ultimately finding retired fire hoses. This choice directly addresses the brand's core concept of waterproof materials. Fire hoses are made of rubber, a durable and non-degradable material that is retired once its service life is complete. The rubber material itself also offers an added benefit of being non-slip, which we have incorporated into the base of the toiletry bag to enhance its functionality.
