About Saga. Arita Ware|Hometown of Ceramics-Arita
After clay was discovered in the Senshu area of Arita about 400 years ago, clay firing technology was first used in Japan. Therefore, Arita became the origin of Japanese ceramics.
During these 400 years, the style of Arita ware has continued to evolve with the times, developing the popular styles of the time with each era, while retaining the traditional elegance of the past, which is why many people can't put it down.
In addition, not only in Japan, Arita ware was widely spread to Europe, the Middle East and other places in the 18th century, and became popular overseas. Therefore, a combination of Japanese and Western styles can be seen in many works. To this day, many overseas tourists from Europe and the United States still come to Arita specifically for this purpose, which shows the great influence of its fame.
