Jiao Tai Porcelain Dish in Ice Blue and Peacock Green

"Jiao Tai," meaning the combination of different colored clays, involves arranging patterns like a floral sushi roll using clays of various hues into a long cylindrical form. When sliced, each piece reveals similar patterns, which are then shaped into a dish. Vessels made with the Jiao Tai technique possess unique characteristics. The patterns appear on both the front and back surfaces. Due to the nature of this technique, the patterns undergo natural deformations during the crafting process, such as stretching and twisting, as if the designs themselves are in motion! Crafted with Japanese porcelain clay, fired at 1230°C.
