The beautiful harmony of brushstrokes and flying chisel marks. A versatile rimmed platter that elevates your dishes like art.
This 24.5cm rimmed platter showcases the skilled craftsmanship of Koishiwara-yaki's Okiyo Kiln and a modern sensibility.
At the center (nakashiro), swirling “brush marks” (hakeme) created by applying white clay with a brush are depicted. Beneath these, delicate patterns from the traditional “tobikanna” technique subtly show through. Its subdued, matte texture gently envelops any dish, Japanese or Western.
■ The Reliable “24.5cm” for Entertaining
This large plate measures approximately 24.5cm in diameter. It's perfect for plating up a generous main dish of meat or fish, or for serving a variety of side dishes on one plate. It also excels as a serving bowl or platter for sharing salads and dishes at home parties.
■ The “Rim” Design for Beautiful Presentation
The eye-catching striped pattern on the rim frames your food like a picture frame, creating a crisp, defined look. Simply placing food in the center naturally creates white space, achieving a restaurant-quality presentation. It also prevents sauces and liquids from spilling over, a practical bonus.
■ The Artistry of Handcrafting: Two Distinct Faces
The surface features a bright, soft white base. Turn it over to reveal a deep, dark gray base adorned with the stunning “Sōhikana” technique. Simply washing and storing it upside down creates a picturesque display. Enjoy this piece, showcasing masterful craftsmanship, at your daily table.
