Tetrad Handcrafted Wooden Tissue Box L | Reclaimed Wood Series | Dark Version (Lauan Wood)

**Infusing Your Space with Warmth** Tissues play a significant role in our daily lives, and we believe they deserve a dignified home. Moving away from traditional boxy forms, we utilize bentwood techniques to outline the elegant lines and proportions of this tissue box: a wide, stable base that comfortably holds a full pack of tissues, with a slightly tapered top that visually lightens the form. Featuring a waist-shaped opening, it feels as though you are pulling a sheet of paper from between tree branches. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223240039_48f8397497_b.jpg **Bentwood Craftsmanship** ▪︎ The "plywood bentwood technique" involves layering multiple sheets of solid wood veneer, placing them into a specialized mold, and using controlled pressure and heat to bend them into shape. The body of the Tetrad tissue box is molded from 6 layers of solid wood veneer, creating a warm, elegant curve. ▪︎ The dark version uses veneer planed from reclaimed lauan wood, while the light version uses veneer planed from reclaimed cypress. Neither version is mixed with other wood veneers or low-quality alternatives. (For more details, please see the Reclaimed Wood Series description below.) ▪︎ Compared to cutting down solid wood, using wood veneers allows for the maximum utilization of our reclaimed timber. It is a tribute to resources and a choice that is kind to the land. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55222992536_2fe07e5204_b.jpg **Magnetic Base** Designed for easy opening and effortless replacement. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223239989_d32750f67e_b.jpg **Fabric Bag Packaging** Reusable, reducing the burden on the earth. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223343964_f6bcf65ded_b.jpg **Materials and Finishes** ▪︎ The Reclaimed Wood Series uses door frames salvaged from demolished houses in Taiwan as its material source; the presence of minor marks on the surface is a normal phenomenon. ▪︎ Dark version (Lauan wood): Small circular holes commonly found in door frames are traces of past insect activity. After being heat-dried, the veneer is thoroughly treated to eliminate pests, and the multi-layered structure of the bentwood process effectively prevents further infestation. ▪︎ The tissue box is coated with natural wood oil, providing the wood with additional protection. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55222992556_7c6c237fed_b.jpg **Reclaimed Wood Series** "Meeting future needs with existing resources." Guided by this core philosophy, META Design selects reclaimed wood as the material source for our bentwood products, providing a truly sustainable option without the need for new timber. The Reclaimed Wood Series uses door frames from demolished houses in Taiwan as its raw material. After a complex process of removing nails, paint, patching, and soaking, the wood is planed into 1mm thick veneers. Using the bentwood techniques in which META specializes, these are crafted into exquisite wooden lamps and home accessories. Old houses were built with substantial materials; the door frames contain durable lauan and precious Taiwanese cypress. This represents not only respect and appreciation for natural resources but also the preservation of Taiwanese memory. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55222143597_4a17b06826_b.jpg Door frames salvaged during the demolition of old houses become the source material for the Reclaimed Wood Series. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55222202797_91c366f9dd_b.jpg Before being placed on the planing machine, the wood undergoes processes such as nail removal, paint stripping, patching, and soaking. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55222143587_c860cda905_b.jpg The blades on the machine move back and forth to plane the door frames into 1mm thick wood veneer. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223045246_d5cb04799c_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223291874_3b1c9bf656_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/55223236464_c258337720_b.jpg Tetrad Handcrafted Wooden Tissue Box L | Reclaimed Wood Series | Dark Version (Lauan Wood) **Product Specifications** Dimensions: Length 22.5 x Width 13 x Height 10.5cm Capacity: 100-150 sheets of facial tissue Materials: Lauan veneer (body), MDF (base) Finish: German natural wood oil Origin: Taiwan **Use and Care Instructions** Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
