Rare Lithophane Paired Table Lamps. Vintage Lithophanie Shades. Germany, circa 1970s. A wonderful porcelain lamps with a skillfully made lampshade of fine porcelain. In PMP it was popular to decorate the items with the floral decor and on the base you can find some beautiful white roses touched with gold. The whole base has great intricate gilt design. The shade is made of white porcelain and looks great in cottage style when the lamp is off. When the lamp is lit, the light begins to play on the porcelain, shining through the beautiful patterns on the lamp. Two sides of the shade display 2 different scenes. Near the stamp you can see the master's sign. The production is done entirely by hand. The Plaue porcelain factory was founded in 1817. The renowned Thuringian manufactory achieved world renown with its lithophane, which it had been producing since 1849 at the suggestion of Gottfried Henklein: thin, unglazed porcelain plates with filigree, translucent engravings.
