Japanese Shippo Bronze Cloisonné Enamel Landscape Flower and Bird Box
Size: about 6 cm in diameter x 3 cm in height
Weight: 69g
Material: Bronze with gold plating, enamel glaze, Bronze
Description: This is a Meiji-era cloisonné ware. The craftsman skillfully inscribed a landscape garden on the small box. The bottom of the box is fully glazed with a small pink and white flower, and the sides of the box are covered with paired floral patterns. After a hundred years, there is a little glaze peeling. Please see photos for historical scars. There are always things about old items that are not photographed or described but that you care about. Please ask more questions and we will be happy to answer your questions.
About the cloisonné for sale: Most of my cloisonnés are early collections, and have a warm luster on the surface (not the shiny shiny new ones). The enamel will produce sand holes or porcelain jumping phenomena or manual polishing marks during the firing process after filling. This is the fun of handmade products. They are early collections so there will be some historical traces. I will not deliberately clean these ancient traces, and buyers can decide whether to remove them after purchase.
