His four published calligraphy sets (Kaishu, Xingshu, Qin Shu, Yan Ti) were essential for every Taiwanese sign shop and for artisans creating stenciled lettering (hollow characters). For example, the familiar "No Parking" stenciled characters are derived from Liu Yuan-Hsiang's Kaishu script. This card design is inspired by Liu Yuan-Hsiang's "Commercial Vocabulary: Qin Shu," reproducing even the practice calligraphy borders.
