|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"A person nurtures jade for three years, and jade nurtures a person for a lifetime."
Crystals possess powerful energy fields but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, has a gentle and soothing nature. While its energy field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, bringing only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is Sodium Aluminum Silicate (NaAI[Si2O6]), often containing trace elements such as Calcium (Ca), Chromium (Cr), Nickel (Ni), Manganese (Mn), Magnesium (Mg), and Iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron. [2]
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth. Calcium is also present in blood and muscles. Calcium acts as a crucial regulator for human life activities throughout all stages of growth and development, from youth to adulthood and old age. It fulfills essential physiological functions, making it indispensable for human health and longevity—a macromineral the body cannot lack.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is significantly important for maintaining normal physiological functions, helping prevent cardiovascular diseases, and regulating blood sugar. The body cannot synthesize it independently and must absorb it through natural foods or supplements. Chromium can enhance insulin sensitivity in individuals with type 2 diabetes, assist overweight individuals in controlling cholesterol and blood sugar, and is depleted faster in individuals under high stress. Therefore, these three groups particularly need it.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adults typically have 6-10 mg of nickel, mainly found in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed nickel mostly excreted in feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macromineral the body cannot lack. Like calcium, magnesium is essential for normal bone growth. Adequate magnesium levels effectively regulate calcium and maintain normal neuromuscular function, complementing each other. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can increase chronic inflammation in the body and is linked to the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, which has relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have a lower mortality rate from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, normal blood magnesium levels reduce the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) aids enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it an "essential trace element." Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron's assistance to function smoothly.
Medical research reveals the potent healing capabilities of jadeite. Long-term wear can not only prevent diseases but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Treating Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help alleviate this common ailment. The jadeite pendant emits energy into the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest, and through continuous massage, it can achieve a radical cure.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have effects such as "clearing middle-level heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair, tonifying the five viscera, calming the spirit, clearing blood vessels, and improving eyesight."
Frequently wearing jadeite jewelry allows trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordinated balance of physiological functions in various organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite accessories, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, can come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite are absorbed by the body, nourishing the skin and making women appear fairer and more radiant.
Relieving Summer Heat: The cool nature of jadeite provides a soothing and refreshing sensation, helping to relieve summer heat. In the Tang Dynasty, Consort Yang would hold jade in her mouth during summer to alleviate heat. Since then, summer has become a cooler season. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are used to combat the heat.
The above are evidence-based reasons for appreciating jadeite. Another, less tangible reason is that when feeling down or stressed, gazing at jadeite can provide an inexplicable sense of emotional healing, as if receiving comfort.
