Artist: Kwood
https://images2.imgbox.com/66/c6/wVo3QFy7_o.jpeg
Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1983, Kwood's background in craft design and his travels through Japan have deeply influenced his work. He experienced how wooden art infused old alleyways with a warm, profound vitality. Objects that seem like fragments of time, carrying the traces of history and the contours of the future, find a delicate balance between opposition and harmony in his creations. His meticulous work connects the vision of the new generation with the simplicity of the old era. Agarwood, once ground into powder for appreciation, was traditionally placed in the most auspicious areas of Japanese homes, symbolizing vitality and light.
Sourced directly from its origin, this agarwood is pure and unblemished, free from artificial processes like gum boiling, line drawing, or the use of artificial fragrances. It is presented in its most natural state. Through ancient aroma-extraction techniques, the outer layers of the aged wood are carefully peeled away by hand, revealing the true soul of the agarwood. This not only imbues it with eternal vitality but also allows traditional and contemporary craftsmanship to intertwine subtly at your fingertips, creating a feast for the eyes and the senses. The rich fragrance, like solidified time, gently draws together memories of the past and aspirations for the future, allowing them to meet and resonate within the aroma, creating an enduring, profound experience.
