Such naturally formed lakes and swamps are regarded as sacred places and play a very important role on the earth. They are like sponges. Collecting rainwater and nectar, after storage, precipitation and purification, it gives energy to the earth and supplies life to all things in the universe. It also plays the role of cooling the land, nourishing the forest, regulating water levels, and purifying water quality. It is also the best place to breed future generations, just like a forest. The womb is pregnant with all kinds of life and is the habitat reserved by the Creator for birds and beasts. There are many species of animals and plants living in lakes and swamps, and they are regarded as belonging to natural life. The ancestors strictly forbade future generations to interfere with them, for fear of disturbing the womb of the earth and offending the water spirits, so they would set up such swamps. Set taboos and formulate regulations to strictly prohibit activities such as hunting and reclamation.
