The handle bears the French sterling silver Minerva hallmark, and its overall design is exceptionally elegant, adorned with exquisite Art Nouveau floral carvings. Below the handle, there's a Gothic initial monogram, likely belonging to the original owner, appearing to be "LD." According to the manufacturer, this letter opener originates from a dismantled estate in the Parisian suburbs. Two were found at the time, both with identical monograms. Upon acquisition, the handles were as dark as charcoal. After careful cleaning and restoration, they now reveal their original, elegant beauty.
